CON: Basics in Best Practices of Simulation
This course will provide a background of simulation design, pre-briefing, facilitation, debriefing and professional integrity through the Healthcare Simulations Standards of Best Practice. Learners will be guided through the standards with experts in the field to help them operationalize the standards and provide quality educational opportunities for students through simulation. The course will provide learners with opportunities to practice and receive feedback.
Target Audience
This activity is intended primarily for new nursing faculty members, as well as new faculty members from physical therapy and physician assistant programs.
Learning Objectives
At the conclusion of this activity, participants should be able to:
1. Design a simulation activity for a course using the HSSOBP
2. Practice debriefing using an appropriate theoretical framework.
3. Implement best practices in their courses.
