JPS Pharmacy: FY26 Navigating Choppy Waters: A Guide to Precepting Difficult Students

This program will be a pharmacy preceptor CE training focusing on navigating challenging student types (overconfident, unprofessional, academically behind, poor time management, etc.).

Target Audience

JPS Health Network pharmacists.

Learning Objectives

At the conclusion of this activity, participants should be able to:

  • Identify negative behaviors students may display on experiential rotations;
  • Explain the role of setting clear expectations and objectives to mitigate challenges;
  • Discuss effective communication and documentation strategies for providing feedback and addressing issues; and
  • Describe when it is appropriate to include the school’s experiential faculty in student discussions.
