JPS Pharmacy: FY26 Navigating Choppy Waters: A Guide to Precepting Difficult Students
This program will be a pharmacy preceptor CE training focusing on navigating challenging student types (overconfident, unprofessional, academically behind, poor time management, etc.).
Target Audience
JPS Health Network pharmacists.
Learning Objectives
At the conclusion of this activity, participants should be able to:
- Identify negative behaviors students may display on experiential rotations;
- Explain the role of setting clear expectations and objectives to mitigate challenges;
- Discuss effective communication and documentation strategies for providing feedback and addressing issues; and
- Describe when it is appropriate to include the school’s experiential faculty in student discussions.
In support of improving patient care, this activity has been planned and implemented by The University of North Texas Health Science Center at Fort Worth and JPS Health Network. The University of North Texas Health Science Center at Fort Worth is jointly accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME), the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE), and the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), to provide continuing Education for the healthcare team.

This knowledge-based activity has been assigned UAN JA0004637-9999-25-051-L01-P and will award 1 contact hour of continuing pharmacy education credit in states that recognized ACPE Providers.
Statements of participation will indicate hours and CEUs based on participation and will be issued online at the conclusion of the activity. Successful completion includes completing the activity and requesting credit online at the conclusion of the activity.
Credit will be uploaded to CPE Monitor, and participants may print a statement of credit or transcript from their NABP e-profile. HSC complies with the Accreditation Standards for Continuing Pharmacy Education.
