Jeffrey Mott, DHSc, PA-C
Dr. Mott received his Bachelor of Science degree as a Physician Assistant (PA) from the University of Texas Health Science Center San Antonio in 1996 in collaboration through the Army Physician Assistant Program. Three years later he received a Master of Physician Assistant Studies degree from the University of Nebraska, College of Medicine. He later went on to complete an orthopedic fellowship at Madigan Army Medical Center with a follow on ortho assignment in Colorado. In 2008, Dr. Mott retired from active duty Army and settled in San Antonio, Texas, where he continued to serve the military as a Department of Defense civilian instructor at the Academy of Health Sciences, Army Medical Department Center & School at Fort Sam Houston. In 2012, he received a Doctor of Health Science degree from Nova Southeastern University, Fort Lauderdale, FL. In January 2014, after 6 years of training military physician assistants in predeployment trauma medicine, he accepted his current faculty appointment at the UNT Health Science Center Physician Assistant Studies Program.
Dr. Mott is the course director for the musculoskeletal, geriatrics and Senior Seminar courses as well as the elective 4 clinical rotation. He serves the HSC as a member of the Faculty Bylaws & Policies Committee, the Faculty Grievance Committee and as a member of the College of Health Professions Promotion & Tenure Committee. Within the PA program, he serves as a member of the Student Performance Committee and the Admissions Committee. He also serves on the Students Affairs Committee for the Texas Academy of Physician Assistants and nationally on the Special Forces Association Scholarship Committee.
