Sierra Rose

Sierra Villa is an osteopathic medical student at the Texas College of Osteopathic Medicine, currently serving as President of the student organization Advocates for Patient Safety. Her work focuses on improving health literacy and access to preventative health information in resource-limited settings through the development of multilingual educational materials, hosting student clinician training events, and engaging in patient safety research.
She has participated in medical mission work in Cuba, Guatemala, and along the Texas–Mexico border, contributing to community-based clinical care in underserved regions. Her research experience also includes work in reproductive grief care, with a focus on supporting patients navigating pregnancy loss and complex reproductive outcomes.
She is particularly interested in proactive models of care that enhance patient ownership, strengthen continuity, and reduce preventable complications. A member of the Rural Osteopathic Medicine cohort, she has a special academic interest in the integration of osteopathic principles into primary care.
