Dr. Melanie Stone is Assistant Professor of Family & Community Medicine and Health Policy and Health Service Administration at UT San Antonio and Director of Community Engaged Learning at the Charles E. Cheever Jr. Center for Medical Humanities & Ethics.  She is passionate about integrating a public health focus into an academic health science center.  Her expertise is health literacy, and she helps bring health literacy awareness, knowledge, and skills to the current and future health professional workforce.  She is Co-Director of NACCHO-recognized Health Confianza and serves in leadership positions at various public health, medical education and health literacy organizations at the local, national and international level.
