2026 Health Literacy Collaborative Summit

Fort Worth, TX US
April 23, 2026 to April 24, 2026

The College of Public Health at the University of North Texas Health Science Center is set to host the 2026 Collaborative Health Literacy Summit. This will be the second in what is hoped to become a series of collaborative summits. In early 2024, Wisconsin hosted the first with 8 other states (Minnesota, Nebraska, Kansas, Texas, Arkansas, Missouri, Ohio, and Michigan) leveraging the collaborative summit to bring together over 200 attendees to share diverse health literacy approaches, experiences, and strategies through a rich regional event and garnering global attendance. Since that time, Delaware has joined the collaborative.

Learning Objectives

At the conclusion of this activity, participants should be able to:

  • Apply evidence-based health literacy strategies to organizational and community settings by identifying at least two actionable changes participants can implement in their own practice within 30 days post-summit;
  • Analyze the impact of personal and organizational health literacy on health outcomes by comparing diverse approaches and case studies presented across participating states; and
  • Create a collaborative, interdisciplinary action plan or framework to advance health literacy initiatives within attendees' institutions or regions, integrating insights from summit presentations and peer discussions.
