Darren De La Cruz, Assistant District Attorney
Darren De La Cruz is an Assistant District Attorney with the Tarrant County Criminal District Attorney’s Office. He earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Texas at Arlington and received his law degree from Texas A&M University School of Law in 2015.
Darren has served as a prosecutor for nearly a decade, handling a wide range of criminal cases and trying more than 60 jury trials. Of those, 25 involved sexually related offenses. He spent two years in the Special Victims Unit focusing on child sexual abuse cases, gaining extensive experience working with vulnerable victims and complex forensic evidence.
In 2023, Darren was assigned to the Adult Sexual Assault Unit, where he now serves as Chief. In this role, he oversees the prosecution of all adult sexual assault cases in Tarrant County. His trial experience, combined with his specialized work in both child and adult sexual assault units, gives him unique insight into the courtroom process, working with expert witnesses, and the challenges of presenting sensitive evidence to a jury.
