In 2021, Crystal assumed the role of co-coordinator of the Forensic Nursing Department at Baylor Scott & White in College Station, where she works alongside a team of 12 forensic nurses to provide trauma-informed care to victims of violence throughout the Brazos Valley. Her leadership and commitment to excellence earned her the prestigious "Top 10 Nurse" award in both 2018 and 2019.
A passionate educator and community advocate, Crystal actively participates in several multidisciplinary teams across the Brazos Valley and surrounding counties. She regularly provides education to law enforcement, medical professionals, victim advocates, and community partners on topics including sexual assault, domestic violence, child abuse, and strangulation.
Crystal also serves as a clinical coach at Texas A&M and is excited to expand her impact by joining the University of North Texas Health Science Center (UNTHSC) team. Both institutions play a vital role in training the next generation of forensic nurses. She earned her Master of Science in Forensics from Texas A&M in May 2024, further strengthening her ability to support comprehensive care for forensic patients.
Crystal currently serves as President-Elect of the Texas Chapter of the International Association of Forensic Nurses (IAFN), under the leadership of Jenny Black, and continues to advocate for the advancement of forensic nursing across the state and beyond.
