Priscilla Kenyon
Priscilla Kenyon received her Bachelors of Science Degree in Nursing at Southwestern Adventist University. She obtained her certification by the Texas Office Attorney General as CA-SANE in 2018. In 2021 JPS developed the Forensic Nursing Services Department to meet the needs of patients who present to the facility with report of victimization. Priscilla accepted a position as a Forensic Nurse Examiner.
Forensic Nursing encompasses care provided to all victims of crime. Having a strong foundation in the care of sexual assault victims she began to expand her knowledge and began to apply principles to victims of intimate partner violence, physical assault, family violence, strangulation, and elder abuse and neglect. She obtained certification in Intimate Partner Violence, Advanced Manual Strangulation, and completed course for administering Danger Assessments.
Priscilla has been a registered nurse for 15 years and has been with JPS Health Network for 12 years. Priscilla has worked several positions at JPS ranging from staff nurse, charge nurse, trauma coordinator, and critical care coordinator. A seasoned nurse with both emergency room and critical care experience. This experience provides a strong foundation to deliver only the highest quality of care to patients presenting to the facility. More importantly delivers the highest quality of care to victims by conducting thorough medical forensic exams, with detailed documentation, and implementation of trauma informed principles.
Priscilla has lectured within Hospital Networks to staff nurses, residents, and attending physicians on sexual assault, strangulation, and intimate partner violence. She has lectured on strangulation at The Women’s Center and Women of Law Enforcement Conference. Community outreach thru participation in law enforcement crime fairs, District Attorney campaigns on intimate partner violence and sexual assault, and has led the largest team at the annual Victory over Violence 5k walk.
Proud to serve and described as passionate about victim centered care. Priscilla is a member of the Tarrant County Sexual Assault Response Team, serves as a member of the MDT at the Alliance for Children, and is a member of the International Organization of Forensic Nurses.
Originally from upstate New York, Priscilla resides in Burleson Texas. Proud dog mom who enjoys being active. In 2021 Priscilla started raising awareness for organizations thru documenting her daily walks and adventures with her pets. So far her pets raised over $4000 for breast cancer awareness, gun violence, and intimate partner violence. Creative in nature, enjoys painting and music in her free time.
