Lisa Nash, DO, MS HPEd, FAAFP
Dr. Nash grew up on a farm in rural north Texas and completed her undergraduate training at Weatherford College and Texas Christian University, followed by medical school at UNTHSC’s Texas College of Osteopathic Medicine. As her academic career advanced, she later completed her Master of Science in Health Professions Education at Massachusetts General Hospital Institute for the Health Professions.
Dr. Nash completed her family medicine residency at Osteopathic Medical Center of Texas in Fort Worth and obtained board certification in Family Medicine. Dr. Nash spent four years in rural private practice before joining the faculty at University of Texas Medical Branch from 1998 – 2010. Her major activities there included graduate medical education administration, teaching, director of the family medicine residency and development of the rural training track. Dr. Nash was recruited back to TCOM in 2010 where she continues to serve as TCOM’s Senior Associate Dean for Educational Programs & GME. In this role, she is responsible for all GME programs affiliated with the health science center as well as oversight of TCOM Advisory Colleges program, residency match strategies, and the Faculty Development Center.
