Rebecca Lisa Ashworth, BS Pharm, RPh, BCSCP, FACA
Lisa Diggs Ashworth, BS Pharm, RPh, BCSCP, FACA is Vice President of Clinical Pharmacy Services for Optum Rx Infusion and an independent consultant for pharmaceutical compounding located in Coppell, TX. She is co-author of Trissel’s Stability of Compounded Formulations 6th ed, authored a chapter in Remington’s – The Science and Practice of Pharmacy, 22nd Edition, and published numerous articles. Lisa has served on the USP Compounding Expert Committee since 2005. She is a member of and has served in leadership capacities of numerous professional organizations and has spoken around the world on issues pertaining to compounded medications, compounding standards and regulations, and compounding pharmacy practices. She is very passionate about pharmaceutical compounding, and especially the compounding needs of pediatric patients. She obtained a B.S in Pharmacy from the University of Oklahoma College of Pharmacy in 1987 and is a Board Certified Sterile Compounding Pharmacist (BCSCP).
From the time she started as a pharmacy technician, the art and science of compounding medicines has been a part of her career for over 45 years. She has practiced in retail, home infusion, hospital, investigational studies, drug information as contributing editor and writer for the International Journal of Pharmaceutical Compounding (IJPC), and as a preceptor for students and residents.
