Aurea Baez-Martinez, MS, C-TAGME
Aurea Baez-Martinez, BA, MS, C-TAGME is native from Ponce, Puerto Rico. She started working with GME in 2008 when she was recruited to work as a Program Secretary for the Pediatric Residency Program at Hospital Episcopal San Lucas and worked there until January 2017. During that time her position was reclassified as Program Coordinator. Aurea and her family moved to Fort Worth, Texas in 2017 to start working as an Academic Program Coordinator at the Office of Educational Programs and the affiliated programs in TCOM. She currently is the GME Institutional Coordinator UNTHSC/Texas College of Osteopathic Medicine.
Aurea completed her Bachelor of Arts degree in Office Systems Management at the Inter American University of Puerto Rico, Ponce Campus and completed a Master of Science Degree in Management and Leadership from Western Governors University. She is currently working on her Doctorate in Education in Healthcare Communication and Leadership from LSU-Shreveport. She was granted Certification from the National Board for Certification of Training Administrators in Graduate Medical Education (TAGME) in September 2019 and is a certified education in Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI) Step 1 since December 2021.
During her free time, she tries to spend time with her family. Aurea loves to paint and draw and wishes she had more time to do so. She’s also a big Star Wars fan. So, in the words of the immortal Jedi Master Obi-Wan Kenobi “May the Force be with you”.
