Dr. Shah earned his medical degree at UT Health Science Center at San Antonio, and he completed a residency and chief residency in internal medicine at Baylor College of Medicine. He also holds a bachelor’s degree in biomedical engineering from Washington University in St. Louis.

Certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine, he joined the UT Southwestern faculty in 2014 and practices at Parkland Health as a hospitalist.

Dr. Shah serves as a Deputy Medical Information Officer for Parkland Health and as Medical Director of Innovation, Technology, and Design in the Division of Hospital Medicine at Parkland. He is a Senior Fellow in Hospital Medicine and an active member in the Society of Hospital Medicine.

Dr. Shah’s clinical and research interests include clinical informatics, high-value care, and quality improvement.
