HSCCP: 2021-24 Enhancing Student Assessment and Feedback Questions
Preceptors require advanced skills in assessing and providing feedback to pharmacy students during their rotations. However, preceptors often encounter the challenge of tailoring assessment and feedback methods to meet the diverse needs of students and rotation contexts. This activity will equip preceptors with tools to implement a variety of assessment methods and customize their feedback approaches.
Target Audience
This activity is intended for pharmacists.
Learning Objectives
When you complete this module, you will be able to:
- Evaluate students using formal and informal assessment methods and use these methods to provide targeted, timely feedback.
- Identify feedback methods that may be tailored based on student and rotation needs.
- Develop a comprehension plan to link student self-assessment to formative and summative feedback.
- Implement the use of feedback to frame upcoming expectations and elevate student performance.
- Design an experiential rotation calendar incorporating at least three novel assessment and feedback strategies.

Statements of participation will indicate hours and CEUs based on participation and will be issued online at the conclusion of the activity. Successful completion includes completing the activity, its accompanying evaluation and/or posttest (score 70% or higher) and requesting credit online at the conclusion of the activity.
Credit will be uploaded to CPE Monitor, and participants may print a statement of credit or transcript from their NABP e-profile. HSC complies with the Accreditation Standards for Continuing Pharmacy Education.
