Healthy Lives Matter: 2026 11th Annual Alzheimer's Education Seminar

This educational symposium addresses ongoing challenges in Alzheimer’s disease and dementia care, including delayed diagnosis, stigma, lack of education, caregiver stress, and barriers to accessing care. Designed for community members and caregivers, the activity provides evidence-based information, practical resources, and actionable strategies to support earlier recognition of symptoms, improve care planning, and strengthen caregiver support. By promoting a person-centered approach that values caregivers as essential members of the care team, encourages collaboration across disciplines, and prioritizes equity, cultural responsiveness, and compassion.

Target Audience

This activity is intended for nurses, social workers, and licensed professional counselors. 

Learning Objectives

At the conclusion of this activity, participants should be able to:

1. Describe a person-centered approach to key issues and current developments in Alzheimer's disease and dementia care.

2. Recognize how culture, stigma, and other barriers can affect dementia diagnosis, treatment, and access to care.

3. Identify practical strategies for managing dementia-related behaviors and reducing caregiver stress.
