DAI: 2024-2026 Mastering Online Course Design Microcredential

This microcredential aims to empower learners with the skills and knowledge required to design and develop online courses in alignment with national standards for quality assurance. By the end of this course, learners will understand the foundational principles of online teaching and learning and be capable of applying, analyzing, and evaluating best practices to create a high-quality online course.

Target Audience

This activity is intended for health professions faculty such as: physicians, physician assistants, nurse practitioners, nurses, pharmacists, certified public health professionals, social workers, physical therapists, licensed professional counselors, licensed marriage and family therapists, and psychologists.

Learning Objectives

When you complete this module, you will be able to:

  • Interpret various national standards for quality assurance and apply them to the design of online courses.
  • Evaluate the basic principles and best practices of online learning essentials and apply them in the development of an online course.
  • Synthesize various strategies to promote learner interaction and create accessible instructional materials and activities.
