CWG: 2024 Advanced Group Psychotherapy Techniques
This activity is designed to develop therapists' ability to effectively lead and manage group dynamics by teaching advanced facilitation techniques.
Target Audience
This activity is intended for social workers, LPCs, and LMFTs.
Learning Objectives
Upon completion of this activity, learners should be able to:
1. Develop effective group facilitation skills
2. Implement therapeutic techniques, such as cognitive-behavioral strategies, experiential exercises, and communication skills training.
3. Recognize and address patterns such as group cohesion, resistance, and subgroup formation to facilitate positive therapeutic outcomes.
4. Improve participants' ability to assess and evaluate the effectiveness of group therapy. This includes learning how to measure progress, identify areas needing adjustment, and apply feedback to enhance the therapeutic process and outcomes.
