CON: 2025 Creating Cultures of Civility and Community: Best Practices to Foster Healthy Work Environments
This interactive learning activity delves into the current state of the science surrounding civility, incivility, and other forms of workplace aggression. Participants will gain insight into the far-reaching impacts of incivility on individuals, teams, organizations, and patient care. The program also examines both individual and organizational competencies essential for fostering healthy work environments (HWEs). In addition, it addresses academic civility, highlighting the unique stressors faced by students, faculty, and staff, and presents evidence-based strategies to promote civility and enhance learner engagement.

Learning Objectives
At the conclusion of this activity, participants should be able to:
- Explore the state of the science related to civility, incivility, and other workplace aggressions.
- Describe the impact of incivility on individuals, teams, organizations and patient care.
- Examine individual competencies to foster HWEs.
- Examine organizational competencies to foster HWEs.
- Describe academic civility, incivility, and discuss student, faculty, and staff stressors.
- Explore evidence-based techniques to foster civility and learner engagement.
