CHW Maternal Health in the Community - 2022-24
Many maternal deaths and serious harm to moms in the United States are preventable. These poor maternal health outcomes happen for a number of reasons. These reasons are called Social Determinants of Health. They include low income, poor nutrition, and limited access to health care. Creating good maternal health and behaviors influences health throughout the life course. This happens by helping moms access resources to stay healthy and well. This course prepares Community Health Workers (CHWs) for coaching moms using these resources. The resources empower moms to protect their health before, during, and after having a baby.
