2023-2025 Health Literacy 101 - Frontline Healthcare Workers
Many deaths and events of serious harm happening in U.S. healthcare are preventable. These poor health outcomes happen for a number of reasons. They can also include culture, language, education, and low health literacy. Health literacy along with cultural and social barriers may impede patient access and understanding of health information. Healthcare providers can create good health and health behaviors by helping people access and understand health information and resources. This course helps you understand health literacy and prepares you to use health literate techniques to promote understanding. The course will also help you connect people to community resources to assist with easy-to-understand health information.
