Summary of Experience

Kasey has been a nurse since 2016. She has been with The Turning Point since 2019 as a practicing Forensic Nurse and is now the Forensic Nursing Program & Courtney’s SAFE Place Manager at The Turning Point. She worked for Texas Health Resources - Dallas Campus from 2023 to 2024. Kasey started her nursing career working on the Med Surg floor and was quickly floated to other floors, including Telemetry, Emergency Department, ICU, Postpartum, and post-OP. Kasey has excelled and blossomed in her role as a SANE. Since starting in 2019, she has completed over 700 SANE exams and has testified numerous times for multiple counties as an expert witness. She has provided education and training in Forensic Nursing. She works with new SANEs in the clinical skills lab training and precepting in the field. She helps as an instructor at Children’s Medical Center in Dallas with the Pediatric SANE Didactic training. Kasey has attended educational training on many forensic nursing subjects over the years. Some highlights are trauma-informed care, strangulation, domestic violence/intimate partner violence, human trafficking, and expert witness testimony.
