Michael currently serves as vice president and chief operating officer for Buckner Retirement Services, one of the largest not-for-profit senior living providers in Texas. He has more than 20+ years of experience in faith-based senior living in various community, regional, and national leadership roles. He previously served as vice president of operations for Ascension Living where he led an operations team responsible for 34 communities in 11 states and Washington D.C. During his tenure at Ascension Michael was involved in numerous special projects and process improvement initiatives such as leadership development and associate engagement.

In addition to his work experience, Olmstead holds a certificate in health ministry leadership from Aquinas Institute of Theology; nursing facility administrator license in the state of Texas; Master of Science, Gerontology from Baylor University; nursing assistant certificate from McLennan Community College; and Bachelor of Business Administration from Baylor University.  He has also served on various boards including the Alzheimer’s Association North Central Texas, Meals on Wheels, McLennan Community College Long Term Care Advisory, and LeadingAge Texas. Michael and his wife live in Waco.
