This program will be a review on HIV and opportunistic infections (prophylaxis and treatment) for all JPS Health Network pharmacists.

Learning Objectives

At the conclusion of this activity, participants should be able to:

  • Describe the pathophysiology of opportunistic pathogens in patients with HIV;
  • Evaluate primary literature and guidelines for treating HIV-associated opportunistic infections; and
  • Apply clinical judgment in the recommendation of antimicrobials in patients with HIV who require opportunistic infection prophylaxis
