Aaron Gamez

Aaron Gamez is a veteran with over 20 years of distinguished service in the United States Army. He is a highly experienced Sexual Assault Response Coordinator (SARC), Sexual Assault Program Manager, and Victim Advocate (VA) with extensive expertise in the Department of Defense Sexual Harassment/Assault Response and Prevention (SHARP) and Sexual Assault Prevention and Response (SAPR) programs.
Throughout his career, Mr. Gamez has served at multiple U.S. Army installations, providing direct victim advocacy, managing complex sexual assault cases, and overseeing regional SHARP program operations. His responsibilities have included policy development, complaint processing, survivor support coordination, advocate credentialing, and supervision of program staff. He is recognized for his ability to advise senior military leaders on risk reduction, protective factors, and the application of the Social Ecological Model (SEM) in prevention strategies.
A seasoned project manager with a strong public health approach, Aaron has designed and implemented comprehensive prevention programs focused on education, training, and community engagement. He previously served as Co-Chair of the Bexar County Sexual Assault Response Team (SART), where he led high-level, multi-agency coordination efforts across the Greater San Antonio area to strengthen interagency responses to sexual assault.
Currently, Mr. Gamez serves as a SAPR Victim Advocate for the Installation Commander at Naval Air Station (NAS) Joint Reserve Base (JRB). In this role, he provides compassionate, non-clinical support to service members who have experienced sexual assault or harassment. He conducts immediate risk and safety assessments, informs victims of their reporting options and available resources, helps establish recovery goals, and facilitates appropriate referrals.
