Brett Moran, MD

Dr. Brett Moran serves as the SVP and Chief Health Officer at Parkland Health, overseeing Clinical Strategic Development, Digital Health, Research, Innovation, Clinician Resiliency, and Value-based care initiatives. His leadership philosophy centers on the strategic integration of these interconnected disciplines to advance both clinical excellence and public health outcomes with particular emphasis on serving vulnerable populations.
As the 8th recipient of the Epic Physician Academy Council "PACademy" Physician of the Year Award, selected by informatics peers nationwide, Dr. Moran's innovative work has garnered multiple national recognitions, including leading Parkland to receive multiple HIMSS Davies Awards, notably the first Public Health Davies Award in over a decade, and most recently, the 2024 local Eisenberg Award for Patient Safety and Quality. As a national thought leader in healthcare technology and AI implementation, Dr. Moran serves several key advisory roles, including co-chair of the Texas eHealth Advisory Council, which provides strategic guidance to the Health and Human Services Commission. He contributed his expertise as an independent reviewer for the Duke Coalition for Health AI (CHAI) framework, was a member of the Health AI Maturity Model (HAIMM) Collaborative, actively participates in the Epic Health Policy and AI workgroup, and co-facilitates the Institute for Healthcare Improvement's AI Accelerator.
