Catherine Sembajwe-Reeves, EdD, MA
Dr. Catherine Sembajwe-Reeves, EdD, MA, LSSGB, is an Assistant Professor and Program Director for the Master of Health Administration (MHA) and Master of Public Health (Public Health Leadership Concentration) at the University of North Texas Health Science Center College of Public Health. Prior to joining the UNT Health Science Center, she worked in local government as Privacy Officer and Division Manager for Administration and Compliance at Denton County Public Health. As Division Manager, she oversaw grants administration, budget development and monitoring, front office clinical operations, records management, call center operations, Public Health Accreditation Board (PHAB) activities, workforce development and training, HIPAA and HITECH compliance monitoring, risk assessment and risk management for protected health information, and Health and Human Services (HHS) and Office for Civil Rights (OCR) compliance monitoring and reporting. Her current work focuses on developing the health administration and public health workforce to help improve community access to affordable, quality care driven by community-identified needs. Her research interests center on competency-based education (CBE) in higher education, including curriculum development and the understanding of faculty perceptions of CBE's impact on student preparedness.
