Tia Viera

Tia Viera is the Director of Bilingual Education at the James L. West Center for Dementia Care. She is dedicated to assisting caregivers, especially within Hispanic and Latino communities, in understanding and managing dementia.
With extensive experience in dementia care and education, Tia has previously served at the Alzheimer's Association North Central Texas Chapter and Dementia Friendly Fort Worth. Her personal journey includes providing in-home support for individuals living with dementia, notably her mother, who has faced the disease for over 16 years. This experience has deepened Tia’s insight into dementia disease progression and effective communication and care strategies.

Through the Cerebro Sano program, she offers brain health and dementia education in both English and Spanish, addressing intergenerational impacts and bridging healthcare information gaps within the Hispanic and Latino communities.
