José Peña, DO is a practicing family medicine physician currently located in Fort Collins, CO. He works with a community mental health center alongside behavioral health providers in both a homeless shelter clinic as well as an acute crisis center. His focus is largely on providing comprehensive and inclusive care among people who use drugs and people who have mental health conditions. Often he will evaluate and treat patients experiencing substance use dependence and/or withdrawal along with mental health diagnoses such as bipolar, depression or schizophrenia spectrum. When not working, he spends time with his wife and two daughters exploring the foothills and Rocky Mountains. He is a beginner ice skater, skier and angler but familiar hiker and backpacker.
