Mary Ann Contreras, RN is the Violence and Injury Prevention Manager at JPS Hospital, a busy Level One Trauma Center in Fort Worth Texas. She has practiced nursing for over four decades. Mary Ann focuses on trauma, behavior, environment and policy to develop, implement and evaluate injury prevention initiatives. Using national, local, and trauma registry data, she coordinates and collaborates with community organizations to develop trauma education and injury prevention strategies. She is active in the state’s trauma system, national nursing and injury prevention organizations and sits on several community boards.
