Jane Oderberg, LMSW, CDP, CADDCT, LMSW, CDP, CADDCT
Jane Oderberg has worked in the field of aging for the past 40 years in a variety of settings; senior centers, assisted living, skilled nursing, memory care, private psychiatric hospitals, and non-profit organizations. . She holds a BA from the University of Pittsburgh, a Masters in Education in Counseling from Loyola University, New Orleans, and is a Licensed Masters Social Worker in Texas. She has also been certified by the National Association of Certified Dementia Practitioners as a Certified Dementia Practitioner (CDP) and Certified Alzheimer's Disease and Dementia Care Trainer (CADDCT). She is currently a part time instructor and program coordinator at UNTHSC, with emphasis on working with caregivers of dementia patients. She has developed a program, Dementia CARES which is a 6 weeks educational/support program for those who are caring for someone with dementia and she facilitates a twice monthly caregiver support group. Jane is a founding member of the Tarrant Area Gerontological Society (TAGS), is a member of the National Association of Social Workers, is on the board of Cancer Care Services, and is on the advisory board for Cuisine for Healing. Her publications include Special Friends: Organizing and Training Nursing Home Volunteers, Focus on Aging Pamphlet Series, As People Grow Older::An Educational Program for Caregivers, Personal Care Attendant Training Manual, and Caregiver Kids Training Manual. She also wrote an article for Generations Today, January-February 2022 issue on "Treasuring Work at Age 75,"
