Overview

This hour long conversation will discuss conceptual clarification, whole health as antidote to fragmentation, the cost of fragmentation, doing away with fragmentation, strategies to foster whole health and the ethical dimensions of whole health revisited.

Target Audience

This activity is intended for physicians, PA's, NP's, nurses, social workers, licensed professional counselors and public health professionals.

Learning Objectives

Upon completion of this activity leaners should be able to...

  • Identify how the scientific nature of modern health care complicates realizing Whole Health and why, therefore, a focus on more data will not yield Whole Health;
  • Discuss why the goal of offering Whole Health entails the risk of public expectations of heath care providers becoming overextended;
  • Prepare to engage in a conversation – both with professionals and public representatives – about the difficult ethical choices that the goal of Whole Health necessitates;
  • Discuss different educational strategies to better prepare future health care professions to cooperate towards the outcome of Whole Health
