Ingrid Kelley, BSN RN
Ingrid Kelley biography
Hello! I am Ingrid Kelley, a registered nurse, working at the Tarrant County Public Health Department in Fort Worth since 2019. I work in the Immunization Division, specifically in International Travel Health Services. In addition to a supervisor role, I also provide travel consults and vaccines for clients traveling abroad. This involves teaching and advising clients on treatments and preventative measures to empower them to have the safest travel experience and return healthy from their adventures.
Some of my greatest achievements in nursing were that I completed my BSN through the Honors College, conducted research, finished a thesis, all of which I was part of the team that published in Cancer Nursing Journal. Being awarded internships at University of Texas at Arlington and at the National Institutes of Health in Bethesda, Maryland are experiences that highlighted my nursing academia years.
My nursing career began directly out of High School as an LPN/LVN. I completed my BSN later in my career when the duties of raising children were completed. Public service and nursing are rewarding career paths. They are both compatible with my personal mission and belief that healthcare is a human right.
The personal interests I have are advocacy for environmental justice. I belong to the Alliance of Nurses for Health Environment and Liveable Arlington, a local grassroots organization. I enjoy reading, crocheting, quilting, cross-stitch, cycling and gardening when not cheering on my 7 grandchildren and 3 children.
