Attained a rank of Eagle Scout in the Boys Scouts of America. Completed Bachelor of Science degree at Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Cambridge, Massachusetts, in three years (1985). Attended Albany Medical College, Albany, New York. Completed M.D. and PhD degrees (with MS) in six years (1992). Married in 1994. Completed surgical residency with over 1,230 major cases, in 1997 at New York Medical College, Westchester County Medical Center, in Valhalla, New York. Completed fellowship in Pediatric and Adult Trauma and Surgical Critical Care at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia and University of Pennsylvania Hospital, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania in 1999. Diplomat of the American Board of Surgery 1999. Son born in 1999. Special certificate in Surgical Critical Care 2000. Daughter born in 2001. FACS and FCCP in 2001. FCCM in 2005. Recertified in General Surgery in 2006. Recertified in Surgical Critical Care in 2007. Certified in Health Care Quality Management in 2007. Trauma Medical Director in Waco, TX 2003 – 2007. Trauma Medical Director at JPS Health Network in Fort Worth, TX 2007 – Current. Fellow of the American Institute for Healthcare Quality, 2008. UNTHSC as Adjunct Clinical Faculty. 2010 JPS became Level I Trauma Center. Lost Wife to Cancer 2010. Adjunct Clinical Associate Professor in the Department of Surgery 2011. Remarried in 2013. Joined TCU/UNTHSC in 2017 as a Physician Development Coach, Associate Professor in the Department of Medical Education. Fellowship in Executive Coaching 2018 to 2019. Professor in Medical Education 2023. Hobbies include cooking, travel, photography and reading.
