Objectives:

The participant will be able to:

  1. Acquire knowledge of the intersections of emotional, mental, and behavioral health with pain and unhealthy substance use.
  2. Develop and apply baseline evaluation and assessment skills to co-create individualized treatment goals that reflect a whole-person approach to chronic pain management.
  3. Describe the use of compassion, empathy, and patient-centered communication strategies to encourage and motivate the patient toward sustainable personal goals.
