Overview
This series offers didactics that will continue the education of advanced practice nurses enrolled in the JPS Family Medicine Residency program.
Series Learning Objectives
- Perform clinical procedures and skills as appropriate with their certification and scope of practice;
- Describe the common disease processes treated in Family Medicine;
- Explain the treatment pathways for common disease processes in Family Medicine;
- Determine the appropriate follow up and management of common diseases in Family Medicine;
- Apply communication skills for patient-centered and culturally competent care;
- Discuss the importance of collaborative care involving multiple disciplines and specialties;
- Summarize how to provide safe, efficient, timely, and equitable care;
- Define the population health principles;
- Summarize strategies for health promotion and disease prevention;
- Identify ways to stay updated on emerging public health concerns;
- Outline clinical practice guidelines;
- Recall research-based resources;
- Implement quality improvement projects to improve patient outcomes or satisfaction;
- Give examples of culturally competent care;
- Illustrate a patient-centered care approach;
- Demonstrate efficient utilization of the EHR system;
- Recognize emerging healthcare technologies;
- Module humility, diversity, and inclusivity in their patient care;
- Explain self-reflection and self-care; and
