Upon completion of this activity learners should be able to:

  1. Recognize the signs and symptoms of common mood disorders and the disease burden from these disorders.
  2. Describe how symptoms of common mood disorders present in the child, adolescent, and adult populations.
  3. Discuss the level of care considerations for mood disorders depending on the severity of the disorder.
  4. Describe the treatment considerations for use of antidepressants and mood stabilizers in the populations described.
