Revamp Your Approach: Integrating Trauma-Informed Care

October 30, 2024

This FREE continuing education course is designed for healthcare professionals seeking to enhance their understanding and application of trauma-informed care principles in managing substance use disorders (SUD) and opioid use disorders (OUD). Participants will critically examine their own practices, attitudes, and beliefs regarding pain management and explore how these factors may contribute to stigma and impede effective patient care. Through interactive discussions and reflective practices, learners will evaluate current biases and identify key principles of trauma-informed care. The course will guide professionals in integrating these principles into their clinical settings to foster a more empathetic, patient-centered approach. Additionally, insights from patient and family experiences will be used to deepen understanding of stigma, enhancing the quality of care provided. This course aims to empower healthcare providers with the skills and knowledge to transform their practice into one that fully supports the complexities of trauma and addiction
