Overview
Medical City Arlington conducts Cancer Conferences (tumor board) 4 times per month for the multidisciplinary review of complicated oncology cases that may involve mortality, medical decision, procedures, and/or complications. These cases are reviewed by the health care team and discussed based upon practice guidelines, policies and procedures and literature review that align with current practice standards. Reviews may consist of timeline reviews, imaging reviews, related research review and group discussion. General Cancer Conference meets twice monthly as does the Women's Cancer Conference for a total of four conferences per month.
Series Objectives
Upon completion of this activity leaners should be able to:
- Describe the current multidisciplinary treatment strategies in oncology.
- Determine the best treatment plan for patients.
- Review the presentation, diagnosis, AJCC staging and treatment of both solid organ and hematological malignancies.
- Identify supportive services available to cancer patients.
- Determine additional testing/evaluation to optimize care.

This activity is intended for physicians, physician assistants, resident physicians, nurses, and nurse practitioners.
