Understanding Alzheimers Diseases and Related Dementias

The purpose of the Dementia Specialist Certification project is to provide education and support to direct care healthcare professionals. Certificate training will be offered through asynchronous modules housed on an advanced learning management system supplemented by synchronous virtual training sessions. Training will meet the State of Texas training requirements for nursing home annual dementia training hours and assisted living dementia training for newly hired direct care and supportive care employees. To support career advancement, training will also be expanded so that learners can progress across three levels of specialization.
