Yun Tran, MD, MPH

Professionally, I have been a family medicine physician focusing on the underserved population for over 20 years. Since 2022, I have directed the first-year medical student clerkship at TCU Burnett School of Medicine. It is a unique opportunity because not only is a first-year clerkship rare in the US, but it is also a longitudinal experience spanning the entire first year. The students receive true mentorship from our community physicians and build continuity relationship with the patients.
I have also been involved in public health efforts. I am currently working with JPS Family Medicine Residency to build the Community Medicine track, and working alongside my partners at UNT Health Fort Worth and Cook Children's on Asthma 411 to provide unassigned albuterol to school campuses to improve outcome of asthma attacks. I am also partnering with local nonprofits to address nutrition insecurity and other issues affecting health equity. I want to be part of the bridge that connects people. My community means a lot to me.
