TCOM Academy GME sessions are held the first Wednesday each month of the academic year. TCOM Academy provides faculty development in medical education. Sessions are offered to Program Directors, Designated Institutional Officials, Residents, Coordinators, and any others interested in a career in Academic Medicine.
Learning Objectives
Upon the completion of this series, learners should be able to:
1. Explain current trends and essential concepts in medical education and recruitment, such as signaling in GME, osteopathic recognition, and innovative approaches to journal clubs and scholarly activity.
2. Discuss the emotional and structural complexities of GME roles, including emotional labor in coordination, resident improvement plans, and transitional phases in medical education.
3. Develop strategies to enhance productivity and organization by applying time management techniques, leveraging digital tools like Thalamus, and building effective educator portfolios.
