ProTeach is a comprehensive program designed to support the professional growth and career development of health professions educators at all stages of their careers. The program aims to enhance teaching skills, provide opportunities for academic advancement, and foster a supportive community of educators committed to excellence in teaching and learning.

Series Objectives

Upon completion of this activity learners should be able to:

Objective 1.1: Participants will understand the components and purpose of an educator's portfolio.
Objective 1.2: Participants will compile and organize teaching materials, evaluations, and reflective statements.
Objective 1.3: Participants will create a comprehensive and professional educators' portfolio.

Objective 2.1: Participants will explain the four stages of Kolb's Learning Cycle (Concrete Experience, Reflective Observation, Abstract Conceptualization, and Active Experimentation).
Objective 2.2: Participants will identify their own learning styles using Kolb’s Learning Style Inventory.
Objective 2.3: Participants will apply Kolb’s Learning Theory to design effective teaching activities that address diverse learning styles.
Objective 2.4: Participants will differentiate between the six levels of Bloom’s Taxonomy (Remembering, Understanding, Applying, Analyzing, Evaluating, Creating).
Objective 2.5: Participants will write clear, measurable learning objectives for their courses or sessions using Bloom’s Taxonomy.
Objective 2.6: Participants will evaluate and revise existing learning objectives to ensure they are aligned with Bloom’s Taxonomy.

Objective 3.1: Participants will demonstrate effective communication and feedback techniques in clinical teaching.
Objective 3.2: Participants will employ various teaching strategies to enhance student learning in a clinical setting.
Objective 3.3: Participants will reflect on and assess their own teaching practices and identify areas for improvement.
Objective 3.4: Participants will create a plan for ongoing professional development in clinical teaching skills.

Objective 4.1 Participants will demonstrate team-based learning and presentation skills through project capstone.

This activity is intended for physicians, nurses, physical therapists, and others teaching in healthcare professions education.
