Overview
Our Journal Club Series will focus on identified clinical knowledge gaps and address these gaps with local and national speakers in a variety of areas. Three main gap areas have been identified and broadly include 1) updates in clinical knowledge, especially as it relates to substance use disorders (SUD) as well as women's mental health amongst other clinical updates. 2) Clinical knowledge updates in areas of psychopharmacology and psychotherapy. 3) Improving clinician skills to assess and treat specific disorders across the age spectrum.
Series Objectives
Upon completion of this activity leaners should be able to:
- Identify gaps in their clinical knowledge and update knowledge and skills to close personal professional gaps to improve patient care;
- Improve confident that their knowledge in particular behavioral health areas are up to date and consistent with standards of care; and
- Engage in personal professional development
Target Audience
The audience for this presentation would be multi-disciplinary, including physicians, physician assistants, nurse practitioners, nurses, social workers, psychologists, psychiatry residents, medical students, doctoral psychology interns and front-line clinical care staff who work within the JPS Behavioral Health Service.
