Debra Atkisson, MD, PCC is a board-certified child and adolescent psychiatrist who serves as the Regional Medical Director for Connections Wellness Group in the Dallas Fort Worth metroplex. As a Professional Certified Coach, she has served as a Physician Development Coach at the TCU Burnett School of Medicine. She also serves in leadership roles in Texas psychiatry and is the past President  of the Texas Society of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry as well as a Representative to the American Psychiatric Association from Texas. A fifth-generation Texan, Dr. Atkisson graduated from Texas Tech University School of Medicine. She completed a general psychiatry residency and child and adolescent psychiatry fellowship at the Karl Menninger School of Psychiatry in Topeka. She is passionate about serving as an advocate for patients’ mental health as well as educating the public and fellow physicians about the many ways we can all help improve the mental health of our patients.
