Series Learning Objectives

At the conclusion of this activity, participants should be able to:

• Discuss the treatment plan appropriate to the case presented;
• Identify potential complications and expected outcomes relative to specific injuries;
• Summarize key learning points presented in the case;
• Describe traumatic mechanism of injuries physiology and pathophysiology; and
• Integrate new strategies for the diagnosis, assessment, treatment plans (non-surgical and surgical), communication, and post-operative treatment plan for the injured patient.

American Academy of Physician Associates (AAPA)
The University of North Texas Health Science Center at Fort Worth has been authorized by the American Academy of Physician Associates (AAPA) to award AAPA Category 1 CME credit for activities planned in accordance with AAPA CME Criteria. This activity is designated for 1 AAPA Category 1 CME credits. PAs should only claim credit commensurate with the extent of their participation.

Interprofessional Continuing Education (IPCE)

This activity was planned by and for the healthcare team, and learners will receive 1 hour Interprofessional Continuing Education (IPCE) credit for learning and change.

Maintenance of Certification (MOC)
