Session Learning Objectives

Those attending this session will receive information that should allow them to:

  • Examine current evidence and case examples regarding the impact of artificial intelligence on child and adolescent mental health;
  • Identify developmental, psychosocial, and clinical factors that may increase vulnerability to AI-related harms:
  • Evaluate the benefits and risks associated with AI use among youth;
  • Discuss emerging reports of AI-associated psychosis and other psychiatric sequelae; 
  • Integrate AI-related screening, assessment, and counseling into clinical practice; and
  • Counsel patients and caregivers on age-appropriate, safe, and informed use of AI technologies
