Overview
Geriatrics patient may face disparities in care in several ways. Some of them could be due to access to care, ageism (negative attitudes and stereotyping about older adults), limited availability of geriatric specialists, lack of geriatric training within the healthcare system, poly pharmacy and medication errors, and health literacy. These disparities can lead to poor health outcomes for geriatrics patients leading to reduced quality of life, increased healthcare costs, and even higher mortality rates.

- Case based learning where one of the members of an inter professional teams present a case and other members participate by asking questions, providing feedback, guidance, and sharing their own experiences leading to a collaborative learning environment.
- Management of complex cases and provide high-quality care to patients in their communities.
- Addresses the larger issues of health inequities leading to health disparities by increasing access to geriatric training, enhancing communication, increasing access to care, addressing stereotyping, and health literacy.
