Dr. Nolan is a 2000 graduate of the Oklahoma State University College of Osteopathic Medicine.  Dr. Nolan completed a Family Practice Residency at Oklahoma State University in 2003.  He is currently the President of the Oklahoma Osteopathic Association. Dr. Nolan served as the Cherokee Nation WW Hastings Hospital Medical Director from 2009 to 2016.  He served as the Program Director for the Cherokee Nation Family Medicine Residency Program from 2010-2021.  Dr. Nolan became the Cherokee Nation Health Services Diabetes Program Medical Director in 2016 and served in that role until October 2021, when he joined OSUCOM-CN as the Associate Dean of Tribal Health Affairs.  He received the IHS National Director’s Award in 2009, the Thompson Award for the Advancement of Healthcare in 2018, and the Cherokee Nation Health System Lifetime Achievement Award in 2021. 

Dr. Nolan served in the United State Marine Corps from 1983-1987 where he received the Navy Achievement Medal and the Good Conduct Medal.  Dr. Nolan has been married for 38 years and has four children and three grandchildren.
