Overview

The DFW Hospital Council Foundation’s Annual Patient Safety Summit plays a critical role in bringing together healthcare professionals to discuss and address pertinent issues in patient care, staff well-being, and returning to nursing basics. Nursing professionals face demanding and often emotionally charged environments. Their ability to bounce back from challenges, adapt to changes, and maintain high-quality care is crucial for patient safety. Burnout among nursing staff is a pervasive issue affecting both individual well-being and patient outcomes. There’s also a need to getting “back to basics” by reviewing Joint Commission’s standards, drug diversion programs, and health care equity. The Annual Patient Safety Summit's focus on nursing resiliency, burnout mitigation, and employee retention is essential to address pressing challenges in the healthcare sector. By convening experts, sharing insights, and fostering collaboration, the summit aims to equip healthcare professionals with actionable strategies to enhance patient care quality while ensuring the well-being of nursing staff.
